Do you ever long for the laid-back lifestyle of a small country town?  Come visit Sidi and Richard Davis, owners of Oak Street Cottage in Roanoke, Texas.  The Cottage is located just north of Fort Worth, a block off the old Denton highway (Hwy 377).  Spend the night in a beautifully decorated country cottage built in the early 1900s, just one block from "old town" Roanoke.  We'll serve you a delicious continental breakfast before a day of sightseeing, shopping or going to the races at the Texas Motor Speedway (just 2 miles away).  Even if you're not staying the night, stop by and take a look at the antiques we have for sale or pick up a unique gift.  We'll be happy to give you a tour of the house, and fix you a cup of coffee.

Begin your day of shopping here at the Cottage where you will find antique furniture, china, glassware, figurines and gift baskets.  Sidi also makes one of a kind "Woodland" Santa's which are available in the Fall.  For more local shopping, walk 2 blocks south to Oak Street Treasures gift shop and across the street to His & Hers candle and gift shop.  You're sure to find something for that special friend.  You may also find a treasure at Sadie's upscale resale shop behind the Cottage and 2 blocks north on FM 377.

For dinner, try the delicious home style and mashed potatoes, fried chicken or chicken fried steak at the famous Babe's Fried Chicken Dinner House advertised in Southern Living Magazine--just 2 blocks south of the Cottage.  If you're more into "Tex-Mex" cooking, try Nicky's Mexican Restaurant just 1 block south and across the street from the Cottage, or walk 2 blocks north and dine at the Classic Cafe--Roanoke's own "5-Star" restaurant.  Order anything on the menu and you'll love it!
